Design-a-Sprite Winners: All 5 Community Sprites Coming in Season 4
Five community designs won Epic's Design-a-Sprite contest from over 20,000 submissions. The first two went live on September 3, 2026 (v42.10): the X-Ray Sprite (by Avila215) reveals players through walls, and the Onigiri Sprite (by Enorull) grants a little extra Health from Health items — Onigiri replaced Enorull's original winning 'Bullet' design, which Epic cancelled. Three more (Dumpster Dive, Honey, Pond) are still to come in later updates.
During Chapter 7 Season 3, Epic ran a Design-a-Sprite contest inviting players to draw the companion they wanted in the game. More than 20,000 designs came in. On August 8, 2026, Epic revealed the five winners — the first Sprites of the Chapter 7 Season 4 generation designed by the community.
The winners (and one swap)
- X-Ray Sprite — designed by Avila215 — LIVE since Sept 3 (reveals players through walls and objects for a short time)
- Onigiri Sprite — designed by Enorull — LIVE since Sept 3 (grants a little extra Health when you consume Health items). Epic replaced Enorull's original 'Bullet' design with Onigiri, so Bullet is no longer coming
- Dumpster Dive Sprite — designed by StinkyPrincessGoose — still to come
- Honey Sprite — designed by Conejito_sam — still to come
- Pond Sprite — designed by Pine & Kiri — still to come
When do they release?
The first two arrived mid-season: X-Ray and Onigiri went live in the September 3, 2026 update (v42.10) at the 6 AM PT reset, alongside a new Knight Sprite. The remaining three community winners — Dumpster Dive, Honey and Pond — haven't been dated yet; expect them in later New Sprite Day drops through the season.
What do they do?
For the two that are live, abilities are confirmed: X-Ray reveals players through walls and objects for a short time, and Onigiri gives you a little extra Health when you consume Health items. Epic hasn't published rarities or drop rates for either yet, and the abilities for Dumpster Dive, Honey and Pond remain unannounced — we'll verify each against the in-game data the moment it goes live, exactly as we did for the Gem Sprites and Ironmouse.

Community-designed Sprites are new ground for Fortnite, and mid-season additions have historically been the season's chase items — think of how the Gem wave and Ironmouse landed late in Season 3.
