The launch collection counts two variant lines: Gold (12, switching on with the Gold Hours Power Hour on August 22) and the brand-new Cheat Master variant (12, debut timing unconfirmed) — 12 base + 24 variants = 36 entries. An earlier FNBRIntel leak says the other Season 3 lines (Gummy, Galaxy, Gem, Holofoil, Cube, Quack) return later; treat those as leak until verified. Know the difference
Sidekicks are Fortnite's existing companion cosmetic line (since November 2025): no competitive advantage, customizable, with Sidekick Points unlocking accessories. Override adds gaming-legend Sidekicks — Spyro is trailer-shown; Tails, Rush, Pac-Man and Morgana are datamined. They aren't extractable collectibles, so they don't join the Sprite checklist — the Tails you track here is the Tails Sprite.

The September 3 update (v42.10) added three new Sprites at the 6 AM PT reset (confirmed by Vice's post-update roundup): X-Ray Sprite (Design-a-Sprite winner by Avila215 — reveals players through walls and objects for a short time), Onigiri Sprite (Design-a-Sprite winner by Enorull — grants a little extra Health when you consume Health items), and a new Knight Sprite whose ability Epic hasn't disclosed yet. Important correction to the community roster: Epic replaced Enorull's original 'Bullet' winning design with his Onigiri design, so Bullet is NOT coming — Onigiri takes its slot. The other Design-a-Sprite winners (Dumpster Dive, Honey, Pond) are still pending. No drop rates published, as usual, so those fields stay null. We're adding full checklist entries (rarities, variants, self-hosted art) for X-Ray/Onigiri/Knight as soon as fortnite.gg publishes their verified data.

Storm Scout arrived on Saturday, August 29 at 11 AM PT, debuting during the weekend Sonic Power Hour (confirmed by Vice). All three of its variants went live together — base, Cheat Master and Gold — completing the original 12-Sprite Override launch roster. Its ability: it applies Overdrive after you take storm damage (increasing the Overdrive duration with each Level Up) and reveals future Storm Circles at max Level. Find it by looting matches and using Cheat Code consoles, with high, mountainous areas the better hunting grounds. We've flipped Storm Scout and all its variants to released in the tracker. Drop rates are still unpublished — those fields stay null until real numbers exist.

What we DON'T have yet: Epic hasn't posted the exact Aug 29 start times or which Sprite(s) get the Rate Up — those land closer to the day and we'll add them once official. It landed on schedule. Epic's first Season 4 New Sprite Day went live with the August 27 6 AM PT reset (confirmed by Vice's post-update roundup of what was added today): the four Cheat Master variants that were still missing — Cheat Master Klombo (the ultra-rare headliner), Cheat Master Shadow, Cheat Master Jackrabbit and Cheat Master Killswitch — are now obtainable by completing Cheat Codes found in matches. The same update also opened existing Cheat Masters to the in-match Cheat Code pool (outlets list Bush, Jonesy, 8-Bit, Adventure, Sonic and Tails), giving anyone who missed the launch Lobby Hack codes another route. Two honest caveats we're keeping: Cheat Code rewards aren't guaranteed — you may run several before a specific variant drops — and Epic still hasn't published any spawn rates, so our drop-rate fields stay null until real numbers exist. Storm Scout is still NOT in this drop; it keeps waiting for its own Sprite Day.

Epic's Sprite schedule (reported by Vice) sets the first Season 4 New Sprite Day for Thursday, August 27 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET, timed to the weekly reset. Four previously-locked Cheat Master variants start appearing across the map — Cheat Master Klombo (the expected ultra-rare headliner), Cheat Master Shadow, Cheat Master Jackrabbit and Cheat Master Killswitch — joining the regular loot pool rather than being code-only. Two caveats we won't paper over: Epic hasn't said exactly where each spawns or how rare they'll be, and there are still no published drop-rate numbers. Storm Scout is NOT part of this drop — it keeps waiting for its own Sprite Day. We'll verify each variant in fortnite.gg's live data the moment the reset hits and flip them to released then.

The important negative result: drop rates and summon costs remain placeholder zeros in every tracker — nobody has real numbers yet, so any site showing Season 4 percentages is guessing. Confirmed by GameRant's hands-on guide and Epic's own island listing: it's a peaceful non-combat space for up to 4 players (each with their own garden), where you display Sprites from Season 3 onward on pedestals and can build up to four Sprite Homes. No trading, no PvP — pure collection showcase. Every Sprite you catch in Season 4 is added to your Garden automatically.

Sprite Garden first look: a cozy build-a-home sim — but it hasn't opened yet
Fact check first: despite Epic's launch notes saying the Sprite Garden was 'launching tomorrow', it is still not live as of August 21 — insiders expect it within days. Meanwhile dataminer unrealhybrid surfaced a first look (via GamingBible): four islands around a central Sprite Shrine, and a relaxation-focused loop where you build a Sprite Home, upgrade it by stepping on building pads, and furnish it 'so your Sprite will feel more comfortable'. Buildable structures in the files include bathhouses, dojos, greenhouses, spas, tea houses and arenas, with NPC Jade guiding you across mountain, cave and beach biomes. The vibe is openly Pokémon-Pokopia-like — a cozy life-sim corner of Fortnite. All of this is datamined, not official, until it opens.

Post-launch verified: Cheat Code Chests replace Sprite Chests + starter trio
In-game reality has settled (allthings.how, verified post-launch Aug 20) and it corrects the early guides: the old Sprite Chests are gone. The guaranteed source this season is Cheat Code Chests at fixed island spots — enter the code shown on the chest and a random Sprite pops out, with the chest color setting the tier (Blue = Rare, Purple = Epic, Gold = Legendary). Regular chests keep a low Sprite chance. You also pick a starter Sprite at season start: Adventure, Bush or Jonesy (base form only). World spawns favor high ground — most of the roster appears around mountains — and Killswitch only spawns in night-time matches. Extraction still works the Season 3 way: bank Sprites at Extraction Sites or with Portable Extractors, and run a Cheat Code Locator early to mark codes on your route.

Gamerant confirms Storm Scout is in the game files but 'will not arrive until a future Sprite Day' — so the launch pool is 11 live Sprites, with Storm Scout the pre-announced 12th. That reconciles the 11-vs-12 counts across outlets. And TechWiser's dedicated guide reports the Cheat Master variant's perk: equipped Cheat Master Sprites ignore Cheat Code Injector inputs — mash any buttons and the code still enters. Cheat Masters come from Cheat Codes (not chests) and are in the launch drop alongside Gold.

Epic's Override reveal details two hack systems. Lobby Hacks are real-world redemption codes (distributed via social posts and promos) that unlock in-game rewards — XP, Sprite Dust and even Sprite Variants, making promo codes a first-ever variant source worth watching. Override Consoles are the in-match version: the first player to reach a console flips a server-wide rule (Sonic Speed, Infinite Stamina, Big Loot — 10+ confirmed). What is the Sprite Garden?+
A peaceful island getaway — now OPEN (since Aug 21) — where you play with your Sprites and showcase your entire collection, including your Season 3 Runners Sprites, which Epic says are immortalized there. Enter it from the Discovery menu in the lobby or with island code 4220-9404-7987 (check it says 'created by epicgames' — fakes exist). It's a UEFN experience built with Fairview Portals and Beyond Creative: non-combat, up to 4 players each with their own garden, Sprites displayed on pedestals, and you can build up to four Sprite Homes. Every Sprite you catch in Season 4 is added automatically. No trading or PvP.
Are Sidekicks the same as Sprites?+
No. Sidekicks are Fortnite's existing companion cosmetic line (since November 2025) — purely cosmetic, no competitive advantage. Override adds collab Sidekicks like Spyro, but they aren't extractable collectibles and don't join the Sprite checklist.
