How to Extract Sprites (Keep Them Permanently)
Catching a Sprite only gives you its buff for that match. To keep a Sprite permanently you must extract it — either at an Extraction Site terminal or with a Portable Extractor, which channels for about 5 seconds. If you are eliminated before extracting, the Sprite is lost and does not count toward your collection.
Extraction Sites vs the Portable Extractor
There are three ways to bank a Sprite:
- Extraction Site — interact with the terminal to call in the extraction crate, then submit your Sprites. Calling the crate alerts the whole lobby and the drop takes a while to arrive, so hold the area. During certain Rift Anomalies, extraction sites become no-damage safe zones ('Extraction sites are friendly') — free banking while it lasts.
- Portable Extractor — an Extraction Gizmo that sits above your pickaxe slot. It extracts near-instantly, from anywhere, without alerting the lobby — but it is single-use. Buy them for 2,000 Sprite Dust from the Sprite Dust Services case at any extraction site.
- Win the match — a Victory Royale automatically extracts every Sprite you are carrying ('Sprite Extraction Victory Royale'). Closing out a game banks everything at once.
Extract in batches
You are not limited to the Sprite on your back: extra Sprites you pick up go into your inventory, and one crate call-in can bank all of them at once — the equipped Sprite plus everything you are carrying.
Only the equipped Sprite gains XP, though. Inventory Sprites are cargo, not passengers — carry the ones you just want banked, and keep the one you are leveling on your back.
What extraction gives you
A successful extraction adds the Sprite to your permanent collection, awards Sprite Dust, and unlocks the Sprite's edit styles / customization.
Extracting duplicates is not wasted — it is a primary Sprite Dust source, which you then spend summoning the variants you still need.
Don't lose your progress
If you are knocked or eliminated while a Sprite is equipped but not yet extracted, it does not count. Treat extraction like a bounty run: get the Sprite, then play safe until it is banked.
Already-collected Sprites lost in a match can be re-summoned later with Sprite Dust, so a permanent collection is never truly gone.
